Candidates nominated for General President and General Secretary-Treasurer at the 28th International Convention had the right to accept their nominations in person and to speak to the Convention. These speeches were delivered in the convention hall on Friday, July 1, 2011. The order of the speeches was determined by Rule 17 of the 28th International Convention Rules. The candidates appeared in the following order: Ken Hall; James Hoffa; Jim Sheard; Fred Gegare; Sandy Pope.
