RE: Election Office Case No. P-143-LU509-SEC

Gentlemen:

A pre-election protest was filed pursuant to Article XIV, Section 2(b) of the Rules for the 1995-1996 IBT International Union Officer Election (“Rules”) by William G. Quattlebaum, Jr., a member of Local Union 509.  The protester alleged that the Executive Board of Local Union 509 violated the Rules by publishing an Official Notice of Nominations and Election of Officers which stated that Local Union officers are automatically appointed as delegates to the International convention.  Mr.Quattlebaum now advises the Election Officer that he wishes to withdraw his protest.  The Election Officer, finding that such withdrawal effectuates the purpose of the Rules, permits the protest to be WITHDRAWN.

Sincerely,

Barbara Zack Quindel

Election Officer
