Re:  Election Office Case No. PR-382-LU287-EOH

Gentlemen:

Chuck Mack, secretary-treasurer of Local Union 70, president of Joint Council 7, and a candidate for International vice-president, filed a pre-election protest pursuant to Article XIV, Section 2(b) of the Rules for the 1995-1996 IBT International Union Delegate and Officer Election (“Rules”) against Bob Blanchet, a member of Local Union 287 and an IBT International Representative, alleging that on Thursday, October 29, 1998, Mr. Blanchet improperly removed the campaign literature of Mr. Mack and of James P. Hoffa, a candidate for general president, from the break room at the Airborne Express facility in Santa Clara, CA.
