BACKGROUND & ANALYSIS

Jeff Legg, on behalf of the 455 Working Teamsters slate, filed a pre-election protest pursuant to Article XIII, Section 2(b) of the Rules for the 2025-2026 IBT International Union Delegate and Officer Election (“Rules”) against the Leaner Meaner Greener slate alleging that ballots may have been sent to ineligible voters in violation of Article V of the Rules governing the eligibility to vote in delegate and international officer elections.

The basis of this protest concerns a ballot being sent to an unidentified individual who is allegedly ineligible to vote. Jim Devine, representative of the Office of the Election Supervisor (“OES”), was assigned to investigate. Following the filing of the protest and after speaking with the investigator, who requested additional information about his allegations including, but not limited to, the identity of the individuals involved in the allegations giving rise to the protest, Legg stated that he wanted to withdraw his protest voluntarily and did not want to pursue it. On March 5, 2026, Legg confirmed in writing via email to the OES that he wanted his protest withdrawn. Finding that withdrawal furthers the purposes of the Rules, we deem this protest WITHDRAWN.
