                                                            )

BACKGROUND & ANALYSIS

Jason Abbott filed a pre-election protest pursuant to Article XIII, Section 2(b) of the Rules for the 2025-2026 IBT International Union Delegate and Officer Election (“Rules”) against Jeffrey Legg and the 455 Working Teamsters Slate for allegedly misrepresenting the individuals on that slate by sending an email that contains a picture of the slate including individuals not on the slate.

Jim Devine, representative of the Office of the Election Supervisor (“OES”) was assigned to investigate this protest. After the filing of this protest, Abbott informed the investigator that in light of the circumstances, including, but not limited to, the fact that the election had occurred since filing and the election results,  he wanted to withdraw his protest. On May 27, 2026, Abbott confirmed in writing via email to the OES that he wanted his protest withdrawn. We found that withdrawal furthers the purposes of the Rules and deemed this protest WITHDRAWN.
