Fred Zuckerman, candidate for IBT General President, filed a pre-election protest pursuant to Article XIII, Section 2(b) of the Rules for the 2015-2016 IBT International Union Delegate and Officer Election. The protest alleged that Local Union 120 staff used union resources in support of the Hoffa-Hall 2016 slate.
Protest Decision 2016 ESD 324 was issued on November 2, 2016 (OES Case No. P-396-101916-GP). On November 4, 2016, the Hoffa Campaign filed an appeal of ESD 324. Also on November 4, 2016, Local 120 filed an appeal of ESD 324. By Notice of Hearing sent to all identified Interested Parties, a telephonic hearing was scheduled for November 9, 2016. The Election Supervisor filed a supplemental written submission on November 8, 2016. On November 8, 2016, counsel for the Hoffa Campaign submitted in writing a notice of withdrawal of the Hoffa Campaign’s appeal. On November 9, 2016, counsel for Local 120 submitted in writing a notice of withdrawal of Local 120’s appeal. Having heard no objection from any interested party, the appeal of ESD 324 is deemed WITHDRAWN.
