Re: Election Officer Case No. E-048-LU705-EOH

Gentlepersons:

In response to a request for pre-nomination eligibility verification on January 19, 1996, the Election Officer found that Carmen Grande, a member of Local Union 705, was not eligible to run for delegate to the International convention  By letter received by the Election Officer on January 22, 1996, Ms. Grande protests this determination.  An investigation revealed that Ms. Grande was not nominated for delegate and that the deadline for nominations in Local Union 705 has passed.  As a result, the issue raised in this protest is moot and the protest is DENIED.

Any interested party not satisfied with this determination may request a hearing before the Election Appeals Master within one day of receipt of this letter.  The parties are reminded that, absent extraordinary circumstances, no party may rely upon evidence that was not presented to the Office of the Election Officer in any such appeal.  Requests for a hearing shall be made in writing and shall be served on:

Kenneth Conboy, Esq.
