Gentlemen:
A pre-election protest was filed pursuant to Article XIV, Section 2(b) of the Rules for the 1995-1996 IBT International Union Officer Election (“Rules”) by Robert Helderle, a member of Local Union 618. The protester alleged that Local Union 618 Secretary-Treasurer Robert E. Miller refused refused to allow the protester, a candidate for delegate, to view the Local Union’s worksite list, in violation of the Rules. Mr. Helderle now advises the Election Officer that he wishes to withdraw his protest. The Election Officer, finding that such withdrawal effectuates the purpose of the Rules, permits the protest to be WITHDRAWN.
