RE: Election Office Case No. P-135-LU214-MGN

Gentlemen:

A pre-election protest was filed pursuant to Article XIV, Section 2(b) of the Rules for the 1995-1996 IBT International Union Officer Election (“Rules”) by Francis O’Connor, a member of Local Union 214.  The protester alleged that the Local Union 214 Secretary-Treasurer James Markley refused to grant the protester, a candidate for delegate, access to the Local Union election plan, worksite list, and collective bargaining agreements in violation of the Rules.  Mr. O’Connor now advises the Election Officer that he wishes to withdraw his protest.  The Election Officer, finding that such withdrawal effectuates the purpose of the Rules, permits the protest to be WITHDRAWN.

Sincerely,

Barbara Zack Quindel

Election Officer
