Gentlemen:
A pre-election protest was filed pursuant to Article XIV, Section 2(b) of the Rules for the 1995-1996 IBT International Union Officer Election (“Rules”) by Gary L. Gregory, a member of Local Union 135. The protester alleged that Local Union 135 Secretary-Treasurer Daniel L. Barton refused to allow the protester to view a list of Local Union stewards. This protest relates solely to Local Union election matters. Mr. Gregory now advises the Election Officer that he wishes to withdraw his protest. The Election Officer, finding that such withdrawal effectuates the purpose of the Rules, permits the protest to be WITHDRAWN.
