Gentlemen:
A pre-election protest was filed pursuant to Article XIV, Section 2(b) of the Rules for the 1995-1996 IBT International Union Officer Election (“Rules”) by Robert D. Walston, a member of Local Union 743. The protester alleged that Local Union 743 failed to comply with his written request pursuant to Article VIII, Section 1(b) of the Rules dated August 22, 1995 to obtain a list of sites where Local Union 743 members work. Mr.Walston now advises the Election Officer that he wishes to withdraw his protest. The Election Officer, finding that such withdrawal effectuates the purpose of the Rules, permits the protest to be WITHDRAWN.
