Gentlemen:
A pre-election protest was filed pursuant to Article XIV, Section 2(b) of the Rules for the 1995-1996 IBT International Union Officer Election (“Rules”) by Bradley N. Yeakel, a member of Local Union 773. The protester alleged that the Local Union 773 President Philip DePietro, Jr., and Secretary-Treasurer Patricia Franks violated the Rules by refusing to affirm the protester’s right to possess a copy of the local union’s election plan. Mr. Yeakel now advises the Election Officer that he wishes to withdraw his protest. The Election Officer, finding that such withdrawal effectuates the purpose of the Rules, permits the protest to be WITHDRAWN.
