Re:  Election Office Case No. P-295-LU355-PNJ

Gentlemen:

A pre-election protest was filed pursuant to Article XIV, Section 2(b) of the Rules for the 1995-1996 IBT International Union Officer Election (“Rules”) by Joseph B. Rockstroh, a member of Local Union 355.  He alleged that Local Union 355's nominations meeting should have been rescheduled and the deadline for submitting signed nomination forms should have been extended due to inclement weather.  He further alleged that Robert Reynolds, a member of Local Union 355, used union resources to fax his nomination acceptance form to the Local Union 355 union hall, in violation of the Rules.  Mr. Rockstroh now advises the Election Officer that he wishes to withdraw his protest.  The Election Officer, finding that such withdrawal effectuates the purpose of the Rules, permits the protest to be WITHDRAWN.

Sincerely,

Barbara Zack Quindel

Election Officer
