Re:  Election Office Case No. P-342-LU191-ENG

Gentlemen:

A pre-election protest was filed pursuant to Article XIV, Section 2(b) of the Rules for the 1995-1996 IBT International Union Officer Election (“Rules”) by James E. Stacy, a member of Local Union 191.  Mr. Stacy contended that Local Union 191 Secretary-Treasurer Joseph Bennetta had not posted on all union bulletin boards a list of all nominated candidates within five days of the nominations meeting, pursuant to Article II, Section 6(a) of the Rules.  The protester now advises the Election Officer that the lists are now posted and that he wishes to withdraw his protest.  The Election Officer, finding that such withdrawal effectuates the purpose of the Rules, permits the protest to be WITHDRAWN.

Sincerely,

Barbara Zack Quindel

Election Officer
