Re:  Election Office Case No. P-625-LU512-SEC

Gentlemen:

Richard Brown, a member of Local Union 512, filed a protest pursuant to Article XIV, Section 2(b) of the Rules for the 1995-1996 IBT International Union Delegate and Officer Election (Rules) against Local Union Secretary-Treasurer Gene Striglers and members of the Ron Carey Reform slate alleging that Mr. Striglers intentionally delayed the provision of a work site list to the protest.  Mr. Brown has now received the work site list and the local union has agreed to process all such requests in a timely manner.  Mr. Brown now advises the Election Officer that he wishes to withdraw his protest.  The Election Officer, finding that the withdrawal effectuates the purpose of the Rules, permits the protest to be WITHDRAWN.

Any interested party not satisfied with this determination may request a hearing before the Election Appeals Master within one day of receipt of this letter.  The parties are reminded that, absent extraordinary circumstances, no party may rely upon evidence that was not presented to the Office of the Election Officer in any such appeal.  Requests for a hearing shall be made in writing and shall be served on:
