Re:  Election Office Case No. P-899-LU533-EOH

Gentlemen:

Lou Martino, secretary-treasurer of Local Union 533 filed a pre-election protest pursuant to Article XIV, Section 2(b) of the Rules for the IBT International Union Delegate and Officer Election (“Rules”) contending that Robert Woodley, a member of Local Union 533 and delegate to the IBT Convention was improperly requesting reimbursement from the local union for taxicab transportation expenses he incurred during the Convention.

The protester now advises the Election Officer he wishes to withdraw his protest because Mr. Woodley has made no claim for such expenses.  The Election Officer, finding that the requested withdrawal effectuates the purposes of the Rules, permits this protest to be WITHDRAWN.

Any interested party not satisfied with this determination may request a hearing before the Election Appeals Master within one day of receipt of this letter.  The parties are reminded that, absent extraordinary circumstances, no party may rely upon evidence that was not presented to the Office of the Election Officer in any such appeal.  Requests for a hearing shall be made in writing and shall be served on:
