Re:  Election Office Case No. P-1004-LU886-SOU

A pre-election protest was filed pursuant to Article XIV, Section 2(b) of the Rules for the 1995-1996 IBT International Union Delegate and Officer Election (Rules) by

John Thomas, a member of Local Union 886.  Mr Thomas alleged that Richard Nelson, president of Local Union 886, failed to give him a copy of the minutes from the 1996 IBT Convention based on Mr. Thomas support of James P. Hoffa, a candidate for general president.  Mr. Thomas now advises the Election Office that he wishes to withdraw his protest.

The Election Officer, finding that the withdrawal effectuates the purpose of the Rules, permits the protest to be WITHDRAWN.
