Re:  Election Office Case No. P-1148-LU630-CLA

Gentlemen:

A pre-election protest pursuant to Article XIV, Section 2(b) of the Rules for the 1995-1996 IBT International Union Delegate and Officer Election (Rules) by Raul Rodriguez, Jr.  In his protest, Mr. Rodriguez alleged that Kurt Larsen, president of Local Union 630,

was wearing campaign material while conducting a local union shop steward meeting, in violation of the Rules.  He also alleged that Tom Martone, trustee for Local Union 630, was distributing campaign literature outside the Local Union 630 hall.  Mr. Rodriguez now advises the Election Office that he wishes to withdraw his protest.

The Election Officer, finding that the withdrawal effectuates the purpose of the Rules, permits the protest to be WITHDRAWN.
