Re:  Election Office Case No. P-1239-LU295-NYC

Dear Mr. Stampe:

A pre-election protest was filed pursuant to Article XIV, Section 2(b) of the Rules for the 1995-1996 IBT International Union Delegate and Officer Election (Rules) by Christopher Stampe, a member of Local Union 295.  Mr. Stampe alleged that an unknown individual obtained the membership list for Local Union 295 and used it to distribute campaign literature, in violation of the Rules.  Mr. Stampe now advises the Election Office that he wishes to withdraw his protest.

The Election Officer, finding that the withdrawal effectuates the purpose of the Rules, permits the protest to be WITHDRAWN.

Any interested party not satisfied with this determination may request a hearing before the Election Appeals Master within one day of receipt of this letter.  The parties are reminded that, absent extraordinary circumstances, no party may rely upon evidence that was not presented to the Office of the Election Officer in any such appeal.  Requests for a hearing shall be made in writing and shall be served on:
