Re:  Election Office Case No. P-1323-LU676-PNJ

Gentlemen:

A pre-election protest was filed pursuant to Article XIV, Section 2(b) of the Rules for the 1995-1996 IBT International Union Delegate and Officer Election (Rules) by the Hoffa campaign, alleging that 100 members of Local Union 676 had not received ballots for the International officer election due to their support of James P. Hoffa, in violation of the Rules.  The Hoffa campaign has now advised the Election Officer that it wishes to withdraw the protest.

The Election Officer, finding that the withdrawal effectuates the purpose of the Rules, permits the protest to be WITHDRAWN.
